Daytona 2010

Post by hondahawkrider »

As a new parent.. I have limited time to go off and ride on the spur of the moment.. however preplanned event are apparently ok...

I have never actually made to the daytona in early march for end bike week.. So I am curious to how many folks would be up for a ride in early march... basically ride down (duh) - see the AMA race on March 5 as well as the flat track (3rd-4th) and supercross (march 6th)....

Basically it's getting down to daytona toward the end of bike week - see some races and head home right afterwards - just after most everyone else has headed for home...

anyone else interested ...bueller bueller

Riding down could be interesting, I have driven in some nasty snow storms to make FL that time of year (in a truck / not bike).
I like to catch the week before for the vintage racing.

I've been pondering doing a IBA BB or SS ride, maybe on the Paso...... this might work out well for that. If I ride to the keys and back up to Daytona it'll be 1,572 miles, 72 more than needed for the Bun Burner. I haven't been to bike week and I get another week of vacation this coming year, this all is sounding pretty good in my head... :rayof:

No worries Ken, I can fit a lot of bikes in my trailer.
If feel sure we can figure out a way to have a DAMN fine time.

I went to college at ERAU in Daytona. Don't believe the hype! When I started there was a 20:1 guy:girl ratio. It improved to 15:1 in my 4 years. Daytona, unless it's Spring Break, has no college chicks.

If I was just heading to Daytona I'd be fine with the KLR, it's only 870 miles and I've done almost that in a single days riding before without issue on it. I'm hoping to do the 1,500 BB though and I think the old Duc might be better for that trip.

Something tells me that even if it was 20 girls: 1 guy, they still wouldn't be into the over 50+ set :boohoo:
