Yeah, I lost a tag at Greenridge this past January. Looked for it, but never found it.

Not that you really want to give the MVA anything, but $20 beats a hundred.

I'd say that a strip of rubber mouse pad material between the plate and the bracket would resolve that completely.

Well, I tried the cable ties for Michoux. The good news is, I didn't loose the tag. The bad news is, it still cracked. One corner cracked completely off, and the other is about to go too. This was the first ride with the new tag. I think next I'll try a four point mount to a thicker piece of metal with some rubber between the mount and tag.

I think four point mounting and support is going to be necessary for off roading. Kinda funny, but my tag takes the most abuse at Green Ridge because of the higher speeds and more g's.

An after market tail light and mini fender might work well. I have the Acebis LED on my DRZ and it has held up well. It is zip-tied to the sub frame, then the tag is zipped to it (I had to drill my own mounting holes). Check out this page for options:

They are pretty cheap too.

There you go, good solution. Pop rivet the tag to the tag holder an no pesky tag theft problems either.

I have done away with the tag bracket and drilled some new holes in the tag and bolted it directly to where the tag bracket was. We'll see how it does this weekend at the RORR ride.
