Lookie what followed me home yesterday:
Let the farkling begin! I'm going to set the ambitious goal to keep this bike close to 300 lbs even if I have to go ahead and put an EarthX battery and exhaust on it to do that.
The first thing I'll have to do is figure out how to get my leg over it. I'm well endowed in many ways but a long inseam is not one of them. I'll put a low seat on it and get acclimated to it. I'm determined to not lower it. My plan is to do some trail rides this spring before I turn it in to an adv bike with the IMS tank and some electrical accessories. It looks like we're going to do the CDR this year and try to include the Alpine Loop. That's a bit more challenge than I want on my 1200GS and this bike should be perfect for that.
I'm totally open to advice about setting it up. So far the only things I've ordered for it are the Seat Concepts low seat and a Ricochet skid plate (with the foam). I'm curious to see how these OEM Bridgestones work on the trail.

Nice. They are tall bikes.
Isn't already 300#? Which is odd, because it dosen't look like it's that heavy.

I remember Sam’s WR was lowered 1” or 1 1/2”s. It still worked very well, though I know he also spent quite a bit on upgraded suspension too. But I rode his bike a couple afternoons and I liked it.

You are welcome to satisfy your curiosity for yourself....but we all know they'll be terrible.

They probably work great on pavement and dirtroads. But if weather this year is anything like the weather we had last year you are gonna be hating life on the trails.
There are lots of options. Pirelli MT21 front and Dunlop D606 rear is a pretty tried and true dualsport rubber that doesnt instantly get destroyed on the pavement.

I ran a D606/MT-21 combination on my KLR and always liked those tires. I've railed on them on a twisty road and rode rutted up muddy slopes - all good for a DOT legal tire. I've already bought the rim locks and will probably switch the tires out before I head up to Seven Mountains this spring.
Speaking of Taskers - I've ridden Peters Mill a few times on the KLR but never ventured in to the single tracks in there. I'm hoping to explore more of that with my little bike.
I put the low Seat Concepts on it and I think that's going to get me by. As I mentioned before I really don't want to lower it and just get used to riding a tall bike. The hardest part of my ride on it is getting the kick stand up.
I know why bears do what they do. I'd like to just go to sleep and wake up in the spring ready to ride. I've got heated gear for the cold but all the patchy ice on the roads has me parked. I've got all of 17 miles on the WRR.
