ReardenSteel's 2009 DR-Z400S

Post by ReardenSteel » Sun May 05, 2013 8:54 pm

Hey guys, I'm putting my '09 DRZ up for sale...

Image

2009 Suzuki DR-Z400S with 4900 miles

Completely stock engine, carbeurator, exhaust and gearing.

I bought this bike new in summer 2010 from Ellicott City Motorsports (Ellicott City, MD). About half of the 4900 miles it has were put on during a Eastern TransAmerica Trail trip in 2011. The rest are local roads and trail rides like the Shenandoah 500.
The bike is in great condition.

Bike has near-new Dunlop D606's on both front and rear. Installed in October 2012 and the only riding I have done on them is the 2012 Shenandoah 500 + ~50 miles.
Headlamp and all turn signals fully operational.

Add-ons included:
  • Corbin seat for Suzuki DR-Z400S ($400 add-on)
  • Clarke 3.9 gal. fuel tank; White
  • Barkbusters VPS BHG6 with BTC.STD Mounting Kit
  • IMS Pro-Series Footpegs I-295511-4
  • ThumperTalk Skid Plate for DR-Z400S
  • Moose Racing Expedition Rear Rack
  • DoubleTake Mirrors installed with RAM Mounts
  • Dirt Bagz saddle bags (brackets already installed)
  • Flatland Radiator Guards (Model FL-1211)
  • Battery tender lead installed
  • Roll chart holder installed
Original equipment included:
  • OEM fuel tank

$4100 for DAMN members

What do you guys think about the price?

How about the bike?

Anything additional I should mention or highlight?

Are you getting out of dirt riding, or is something new coming into the stable?

Quick look at NADA seemed to have it around $4500, so you're looking pretty good I would think. And thats w/o farkles.
I enjoyed your TAT report on this bike, did you ever go back for more?

I'm testing the waters -- I don't want to get out altogether, but as the kids get older (13 & 10), we have a new TRUCK, the RV and we're doing more together. If I replace it with anything I want to go lighter, a 250.

Stretch, thanks -- I loved riding the EASTERN TAT and my goal is definitely to get back and finish to Oregon -- but I am not sure I want to ride the Western TAT on this bike -- I'm eyeing a 250 like skierd is making famous.
