Aftermarket digital speedo/ trip computer reccomendations ?

All,
Has anyone any experience using aftermarket digital speedos. My KTM 620 which is about to go thru inspection, has a digital computer/tripmaster. It's the big square block on the left in this pic

It's dead, ergo it won't pass.. The OEM replacement, if you can find one is stoopid expensive, even with %25 off via ktmtalk, its $600 bucks, and its outta stock.. My dealer says they can find one, but it will around a grand YIKES!!!. Uh no... That and they were notoriously finicky and unreliable, so I'm not paying that for something with a history.
So I was looking for advice/experience on after market ones... I ran a trailtech on my KTM SXC a few years back, and it was ok, but it wasn't the easiest thing to read and deal with...
Any suggestions
Thanks in advance
Jason
