The worst is under-maintained roads, so wear what you think would be appropriate if you crashed at speed.

I'm hoping we do those three water crossings from last week. I'd like to see the correct way to go across that DAMN dam.

wingfixer, can I just pitch in and eat some of your grub?

Hopefully not earlier than 8, because that's when I'm planning on getting there. :-)

guys - I'm staying home tomorrow. My shoulders are bothering me a lot and I fear rotator cuff damage from my biff at HM. Have a doc's appointment next week.

I had a great time at Greenridge, though I did a little more family camping then I did DAMN reunion.

However, I almost didn't make it to Greenridge. I was noticing my temperature gauge was reading on the high side on the way out. Coming up over Sidling Hill it was almost in the red. Another big hill and I was over on the side of the highway. We went on a short family hike for while we waited for the radiator to cool then I dumped several gallons of water into it. The whole engine was just steam and water, I couldn't tell what the problem was I just tried to make it to my campsite. Down Orleans rd a few miles and then a few steep hills and my engine was overheating again. I dumped the rest of my water into the radiator and this time found a hole in one of the radiator hoses. It looks like it was hanging too low and the fan belt rubbed a hole right through it.
Needing water badly, I offloaded the sidecar rig and motored back down the road a few miles to the Little Orleans camp store. Bought lots of water and my kid an icecream bar. In the meantime we were rescued by DAMNriders. Patrick and Skinny J helped me do a bodge job w/ duct tape and zip ties.

I ended up getting my own campsite. I think I was the only one bringing a small kid and decided to have my own family campsite. After getting our site set up and eating dinner, we loaded up the family sidecar and motored over to the DAMN group site. We hung out for a bit with the crew.

Caleb liked this little bridge over the stream just below the camp.

Saturday morning my brother came out with his offroad jeep. (He also brought me some hoseclamps to fix my van with. Worked great for the drive home.) I took the sidecar out around Greenridge and hit some good roads. It was perfect for the dualsport sidecar rig, a combination of easy dirt roads and some harder fire roads. Twig Rd, Gordon Rd, and Piclic Rd were pretty fun, some tricky spots on those. My brother had a good time following in his jeep. It was comforting to know that he could pull the sidecar out if I had any troubles.

Anyways, the family had a great time and we were able to make it home.
