Oct 9th - DS Ride For MS
Oct 9th - DS Ride For MS
Although Joe has a thread in the RAMS forum (viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1350), I'll start another here. This will be an easy-peasy ride like we did this spring with donations solicited for the Maryland Chapter of the National MS Society.
This is a great ride for those who aren't comfortable with the enduros commonly foisted off as DS rides, or who have never ridden gravel (most BWM GS riders ).
We'll meet at 0900 at JT's Motorsports in Frederick. Early arrivals get free coffee and donuts late arrivals get crumbs
JT's may extend a discount on purchases that day again (he did on the earlier ride) - more on that later.
We'll have a 50/50 drawing (Code - get cracking - I'm volunteering you!) as well with the proceeds also being donated to MS.
There is only one route and the roll chart is below - please print it, tape it together and bring it along!

On the calendar.
Re: Oct 9th - DS Ride For MS
The route is basically done, but it is testing my poor computer kungfu to get a finished rollchart. I thought I had it all done and now either it didn't save or it is saved somewhere where I can't find it.
I'm pretty sure Ken has the GPS route allready.

Re: Oct 9th - DS Ride For MS
I was thinking that I should see about reserving some campsites at Caledonia SP to offer to peeps who may come from too far away to do the ride and get home in the same day.
Hell, I might want to camp just for fun.
Anybody know of a better campground? Or some decent hotels with reasonable rates?
eidt... I just read that the campground in Caledonia is called Hosack.... my inner 13 year old just can't contain himself.

There's also camping in Clarksburg at Little Bennett (RV stuff primarily), or free (primative - no AC/H20) by the C&O Canal (but you can't see your bike from the sites).
