I think there are more than enough official riding clubs with rules in the area. I say no rules, just ride. I see us as a bunch of friends who use the internet to meet and plan riding trips to a state park or other public venue to ride would be about as harmless as it gets. I didnt make you ride off that cliff, you followed me willingly.
sign all the waviers and have all the insurance you want, but if there are targetable assests and a lawyer can figure out a way to get them, he will try. and theres always an unlimited number of things that can happen where anyone of us would be liable for in a lawyer's eye.
Joining AMA / Organizing a charter gives them a list of people to hold liable, again no need to be a target.
and don't think the AMA is going to stand besides you in the time of need, any broken rule ( and they will find one, we break plenty) will land the liability back in your/our lap.
We join another club and we are no longer DAMN riders we are NVTR or whatever club we join.

I would have to say keep DAMN the way it is.When i was into my car clubs the same thing took place as soon as it became a club and not just a bunch of buddys hanging out it was'nt fun anymore. Lets keep it fun.

Please do not change DAMN, I really enjoy it the way it is. I frequent ADV but not nearly as much since DAMN was started. I really enjoy the people here, the stories, the small group rides, I think you guys know where I'm going with this....
