2nd Annual DAMN Riders Birthday Camp & Ride

Yep, as Tim said, great day one. Grandville's is a heck of a place to shake off the winter rust. But, the ever shifting ground under the pines was sublime and perfect. Three runs up "Laughing Man" and one hike down and back up have left me exhausted.

Headed out to the garage to mount wheels to the DRZ for tomorrow's dual sport ride.

Things are great in Barton. Lots of folks, familys and kids. Only one hospital visit. Rider is OK, impaled bicep, deep muscle brusing. Weather was good today, a little chill but perfect for riding. I my case, watching. Good time anyway.

Thanks Granville for having us all out this past weekend. I think everyone had a great time. (i know i did)

Though I don't really recommend riding by yourself for safety reasons. While the rest of the DAMNriders went on a dualsport ride, I hit the trails by myself. I tried to find the other group out there and tag along, but I was never able find them.
It was pretty fun to ride by myself, and take my time, play on the hillclimbs as much as I wanted...
Anyway, my camera wasn't working, so I hope some other people got a few pictures.
I only wished the rain would have held off for another hour or two.

No pictures from Saturday but it was a great day. The trails were perfect - just wet enough to keep the dust down.

Sunday mdubya came by to lead us on a DS ride - about 50 miles according to my GPS.

We had a problem with the white dust.

then mdub said we had a small rock pile to do - nothing serious tho...

and we got a little muddy but found a quick way to clean up bike AND body!

PS: Between the Saturday PM trail ride and the Sunday AM trail ride I improved from EMBARRASINGLY CLUNSEY AND INCOMPETENT to just DIGUSTINGLY CLUMSEY AND INCOMPETENT! Let's see - IF I rode every day this year and continued to imprrove this much each day - I might improve to just SLOW and CLUMSEY by 2011

I had a great time picking my way through the woods on Saturday. Each lap left a bigger grin on my face, as I have never done any type of woods riding. It was a blast! Thank you.
