A couple years ago when we did this, I wore my one piece Aerostich Roadcrafter. That was a poor decision. It was fine for road sections obviously. But I was sweating a lot during some of the offroad sections.

I'm going to wear my offroad gear. I'll have a rain jacket to put on for an extra layer if it happens to be cold in the mornings or for rain. Probably bring some extra gloves.

I may wear a pair of dualsport/ADV boots rather than my sidi offroad boots. Probably either would work fine.

I am doing the same. I bought a pair of the Forma Low ADV boots and tested them at FRO last weekend. They work great, I am a believer!I also bought a pair of the EVS TP199 knee pads with shin protectors and they fit into these boots perfectly. If you have bigger calves, these Forma's work great! They make a full size boot as well.

I'll be wearing what I wore last time -- dirt bike gear. My gear includes hard armor on all the contact points, including a zip-up armored mesh under my jersey, so I think if I were to have an unfortunate (single vehicle) incident on the pavement I would be "okay" but I have no delusions about how well dirt gloves would fare on pavement at speed. Plus a rain suit for when it's actively raining or cold in the mornings. I know it's nowhere near as good as my 'Stich for the pavement, but I'm also doing half the speed. The alternative is having to swap gear when we transition, and having to figure out how to carry it all on a DRZ.

Thanks all. Dirt gear + rain coat it is then.

FWIW, Wolfman is having a 15% off sale until tomorrow (of course NOW after I bought most of it already.) I'll prob pickup a Med Rolie.
