Nwe Baltimore is not open to the south where it says it is in the maps (big Permanent barrier) ... It comes to a dead end. It may be open to the north.

How about a little local dirt road knowledge? Thinking of heading to Michaux to explore with Ovo on Sunday and looking for a little clue. We're coming from North East, MD and would prefer to stick to dirt roads (I understand there is no legal off-road there). Would appreciate a recommendation for parking and a direction to head out.

Thanks!

See above, download map, also stop at Forest HQ along US 30 and get map. Outer lobby should open.

I guess maybe you'd come US 30 after coming up US 15?
Good start point is intersection of 30/ PA 233. Decent sized parking lot at that location. It's right next to Caledonia state park. Easy to find.

You can go north or south on 233 and jump on forest service gravel roads at several spots.

Motojunky and myself made it out to Michaux for a few hours of running around on the roads..Seems the southern part (south of Rt.30) of the park was a lot more fun than what we found going north. But we still arent sure how much of the north we found. Seems we would take a road and come out sooner than we thought.

All in All it was a fun dusty day and just a blast to get out an ride...I have some GoPro video I need to put together but here is at least one picture.

A good time for sure. Perfect weather for challenging off-road riding... could've been a few degrees warmer for fast fire road running. Not that we went fast - I'm certain that we maintained the legal 25 mph at all times. We either covered 62 miles or 90 miles, depending on who's odometer you want to believe. :lol2:

25mph of course thats what we did.... :whoop:

We did see 3 other dual sports leaving Rt233 and turning on to Rt30 as we left.

Was that anyone from here?
