KTM will be the better choice of the 2 in my opinion. I am done with BMW for ADV, they are just too heavy and use crap suspension components.

I looked into the 390adv as an RTW mount so my POV is skewed.

A couple months ago I talked to a guy who operates a tour company in Georgia (county), and he ended up buying 11 of them and putting his fleet of mixed G650X, DRs, etc aside. He was very pleased with his choice and the stuff they ride would range from back roads to pretty rough BDR type of stuff.

Another friend tested G310GS and 390ADV to travel through India and came to the conclusion that 390 was a better choice.

IMHO if you have a chance take a look at both especially if you can get a test ride. IIRC the earlier 390 had some electronic glitches, but it has been addressed
