No, they ban GPS and videoing because people put it up post race, and then the activists get the video's and GPS tracks to use them to drive their agenda of "land being destroyed". They go out to the mud holes or nasty sections and photo the "carnage" and then head straight to the state officials and demand action!
The GPS tracks then show the activists exactly where the course runs, the obstacles or sections where the course shows wear. Organizers don't want people going out and sabotaging the course and land used, basically helping the ECO nazi's collect info on the event. See in today's world Wes, we are basically ECO terrorists and we have to conduct our business (our hobby) in secret so the "Man" can't come in and shut us down. It is happening everywhere. Maybe we should send these "concerned citizens" to San Fran, NYC or Portland, those are a ECO disaster completely man made-

Almost time fellas! Last year weather was awesome, looking pretty good this year too! Just got the email from Hammer with all the details. Saturday is looking lovely!
As usual, great event. Only rode Saturday but it was ~100 miles, sunny with a little bit of road but lots of good ST that wasn't all clapped out or beat up. A new 10 mile section named "Root of All Evil" at the end was perfect. We even saw Evil Knievel at the bon fire Sat night! Considering how many people, it was stretched out nicely so you never had people up your butt alot. We ran along at a good pace and had a good time!
