What did you work on today?
Re: What did you work on today?
That seat was done by an 80+ year old guy that just could not take standing all day. He used the bike as his "go everywhere" bike.

Re: What did you work on today?
Did a small electrical job today. Had to run a trigger wire to the PDM60, so I routed some flex hose to run the wire through. The Yamaha accessory plug (on both sides) is right under the side faring up front and has a +/- and Trig, so I grabbed the trigger for the pdm and used the +/- for my gps mount that stays on the bike. I ran the trigger back through the flex hose I hid up under/behind the tank and down into the battery compartment under the seat.
Figured I'd run some lines through the flex hose to make it easier to pull wires through in the future if I need to. I used some extra weed whacker line I had, it's a small diameter and worked great! Now I can pull wires in either direction easily and not have to undo my flex hose routing cause I am lazy like that!. And lastly, added one of the Jump Box/SAE connectors for the battery tender. I put the plug with the SAE/Jump Box connector in the tool kit under the seat. Ready to go!

Lots of cool bikes---

Picked up a 2009 250 XC-F project w/ a leakdown problem last week (rusted seats seem to be the culprit.) This is my first time pulling a bike motor out or apart. Is it *SO EASY* compared to cars! Everything is so small and light. Pulled the motor before I even unloaded it from the truck.

I tried a leak down on my 600 and when putting the 100lbs to it, had a hard time to keep it at TDC. Dangerous! Is there a trick to holding TDC?

Re: What did you work on today?
KTMs have a flywheel holding bolt that is installed on the bike. Factory, there is a thick washer/spacer under the bolt. You just move to TDC, remove the bolt, remove the spacer, and reinstall the bolt. It must go into a hole in the flywheel or something. But with 80% leakdown I couldn't develop enough pressure to really even test the bolt Will give it a proper workout once the top end is repaired and I retest.

Nice. It's a shame bikes come from the factory with crap and we always have to change things.
Although my Husky came with fat Pro Taper bars and some other goodies.
Why go to smaller tank? Getting ready for some single track?
No pics, but I worked on the front brakes on my old TY. I actually put on NOS pads in place of the EBCs and they work much better. Also started the winter maintenance on my Husky. Looks like we may be in for a cold, wet stretch. I'm always putting stuff off, thinking I'll get a chance to ride. I think I'm safe for a while.

Re: What did you work on today?
Very true, and yes - I am making the bike more trail-friendly and like having a clear tank. The massive safari tank has been nice for bailing out friends every now and then, but I haven't been doing too many rides where I need that kind of range. Plus it looks better
