I also read it other places. I thought that was a good selling bike.

Good news is the Tw200 is still alive.

Wow! I would have never guessed the WR250R would be dropped, but the whole ADV market is really starting to grow and "branch" out. Yamaha can't make enough T700 for demand right now (worldwide), so I bet that production number will go up in light of these models being dropped, or maybe they will come out with a ~500 type DS? All I know is, it is a good time for Off Road in general. Lots of new models and with the whole pandemic thing, people are heading to the woods for recreation way more than ever.

Looks like it couldn't meet Euro4 regulations and stopped being sold in the EU a year or two ago so the writing was on the wall. One would hope they have a new model planned to replace it.

Or a YZ300X (with electric start)

Or a WR 350F

Or keep dreaming.

Ya know, I still can't believe that Yamaha (or one of the other big 4) did not see and comprehend, since the 90's when the KTM 300 first started to become the king of all dirtbikes (yes it is fuckers), that they didn't make a 250 with a 300 kit option woods bike. They could have sold a crapload. I loved the YZ250 I rode in Kauai for a couple of years. That thing was bad ass and bullet proof. Take that motor with modern KYB's and electric start, winner-Alot of people who move over to KTM/Husky/Beta etc. is because they have evolved and have e-start and good components compared to the UJM's they grew up on which, except for newer suspensions, are the same as they were in the 90's basically.
