Yeah, the bed hinges up and latches to the wall when not in use. No tie downs yet. I haven’t decided which style to go with.

Consider installing one of the ~$100 diesel air heaters (chinese copies of the Espar/Webasto) vs a Mr Buddy. *GREATLY* reduces the CO danger as none of the combustion (intake or exhaust) happens in the vehicle. W/ MyBuddy type propane heater you really need to leave a vent cracked open to prevent from killing yourself (and that wastes heat somewhat defeating the intent of the heater in the first place.) The fan in the diesel heater will heat the area faster and more evenly but won't be as quiet FWIW.

Its a good idea to install a CO alarm no matter which way you go since you will be sleeping in there!

I was impressed enough w/ a buddies install in his ADV van that I just ponied up for the Webasto gas version ($600). My ProMaster is petrol powered and they all have a second fuel tank pickup factory installed. Figured the extra $ was worth not having to figure out how to install/plumb/fill an auxilary tank for diesel. Spare time is in short supply.

The Mr. Buddy danger is oxygen consumption, not CO emissions. It has an auto shutoff for low oxygen, but keeping a window cracked is still a good idea.

If all goes well...
C3H8 (propane) + 5 O2 (oxygen) = 3 CO2 (carbon dioxide) + 4 H2O (water)
when you start to run short on O2...
C3H8 (propane) + 4 O2 (oxygen) = 1 CO2 (carbon dioxide) + 2 CO (carbon monoxide) + 4 H2O (water)
thus: oxygen consumption = CO emission

Relying on its low O2 sensor to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning is putting all your eggs in one basket.

This brings up another interesting science fact. For every # of propane burned, you release ~1.6# of water into the air. The Mr Buddy uses those 1# bottles. I've seen them go through one a night if not insulated well. Thats 3/4L of water in the air (excuse me for going over into metric to make calculations easier.) IIRC, a human sleeping exhales about 1/4L/night. So that like having 3 more people in the trailer w/ you. FWIW, my family of 3 sleeping in the van generates noticeable condensation inside overnight. Not dripping, but a noticeable 'film' on everything.

I recommend these, they have backing plates & you can really crank down on them if needed. You can get multiple quantities. You do need a hole saw to recess them.
