W/ the CB500 not sure why they leave the 690R off the list.
To be objective (which these comparisons are never really trying to be), they'd calculate what they'd weigh w/ equivalent fuel loads. The tanks on some are literally twice the size of others. The 1250GSA is 16.5# heavier due to the extra 10L of fuel it can carry over the plain GS. That would narrow the gap between those two by almost half. The 790R w/ the same fuel as a T7 cuts their gap by 2/3.

I forgot to mention these are DRY weights. I don't compare wet numbers as like you said, fuel capacity is 1-2gal different between some. That 850GS may weigh 538 but it carries the weight way up high and the suspension is CRAP, mush even for the street. BMW (and I have owned a few) are really over priced and not as great as their rep is. pretty reliable bikes, but room for ALOT of improvement. My 2014 F800ADV was the worst bike I have bought IRT overall capability. Crap suspension and buzzy motor.

Some of those are WET weights for sure. For example: 790R (416# dry) & T7 (users are measuring ~450# wet.) The CB500X is likely wet as well. I'm not as familiar w/ the big bikes to know.
Edit: The Africa Twin weights are also wet. So the 4 out of 4 I checked are wet weights. I'm guessing the remainder are too?
Edit2: The new 2020 AT are 524(std)&553(dct) wet. So the figures in the graph seem to match the older model wet or the new one dry?

I had a 690sm at one point. It felt a lot like a DRZ as far as weight, just had a lot more GIDDY UP than a DRZ.

The generally accepted new wet weight of a DRZ400S is 317#. I never weighed mine. The newer 2019+ 690R is 322# dry and ~350# wet.

The 701 enduro LR (model with the 6.6 gal tank) is supposed to be coming here. That'd make a decent adv bike, I think. The front tank is kind of hideous but would put a lot of weight on the front wheel, which seems like it'd be a good thing as my enduro r front end can go kind of nuts if I whack the throttle open at speed.

I wish they would do a wet weight caparison at end of handle bar with the bike leaned over approx 20degrees, to inform of top heaviness ratio. Maybe I'm just getting old & wimpy.

It's all about how they carry the weight, though. Newer designs are finally putting fuel and motor weight lower on the machine and a good suspension really makes a difference.
