Post by Rut Row » Thu Jul 11, 2019 2:34 pm

Its official, Wolf Den Run, Huckleberry Rocks parcel (Parcel A) will open this coming Monday, July 15th.

Here's what you need to know
-Reservations need to be made through Harrington Manor via phone
-Park Entrance fee is $10
-Limit of approximately 50 vehicles per day, passengers are not included in this number
-All trails will fit an ATV or SxS
-Roughly half or more of the trails will fit a full seized vehicle
-12.5 +/- miles of mostly dual direction trails

Remember this is the first step towards a multi parcel trail system. More is to come!

Thanks. I got it started but James Ratino brought home the bacon. He deserves the credit.

We're heading to Deep Creek in late August... I'm hoping to get to Wolfs Den or St Johns or both...

I called to make a reservation (advance reservation is required). The call took at least 20 minutes. The lady who answered was helpful and knowledgeable, and it's understandable that things are slow going when something is new, but it seemed like she was required to collect an inordinate amount of information in order to process the reservation.

If you're going to call, it may speed things up a bit if you knew your DNR ORV sticker numbers and your DNR ID number. You are required to have the ORV sticker, unless you're plated (I dunno about plated in another state). If you've got a MD parks "passport", then you don't have to pay the per-person user fee, but I suggest you have your passport tag number ready, too, because all of this was recorded.

Hopefully, this gets turned into an online registration system some time soon.

And this is part of the overall problem ^^^. Why do they make it so complicated?
Oh, never mind, it's the Government.

At least in PA (for ATV's), you buy your sticker, show up whenever and ride. Motos- just show up and ride.
