Fishing Creek Road Lancaster PA

Fishing Creek Road includes three shallow stream crossings, 6 to 12 inches depending upon rainfall. The road is a few miles long, so explore all along the creek. I enter at Furniss Rd and exit at Susquehannock. The dirt road along the creek is reason enough to make this trip, even without the stream crossings. You'll ride right through the real Amish back country, not the commercialized area.

The streams rush over concrete which can get slippery from moss, so ride accordingly.

Google Map

GPS Coordinate for the first crossing: 39°48'12.1"N 76°15'03.0"W

Google Map Waypoints includes the nearby Tabernacle stream crossing at 39°42'04.4"N 76°16'28.8"W. This is a looped route from Churchville, MD to Fishing Creek in Lancaster, PA and back.

Be careful with Tabernacle as it has a deep side and shallow side. I've seen riders not make it through the deep side after a rain, as the water rushes up to the tank level. Dismount and check it out to be sure you can make it through and plan your line. If the nearby house is on your left [crossing west to east] then the right side is shallow. If the house is on your right [crossing east to west] then the left side is shallow.
