Travel plans:
It's a hefty drive from MD, so to sweeten the deal and because now that I realize how far away it is and have always heard about how awesome it is, in addition to two days of riding I want to spend a good amount of time at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum (https://www.barbermuseum.org/). This means --
Friday, early: Leave for Plantersville, AL (I'm not opposed to leaving after work Thursday if people are up for it)
Saturday and Sunday: Ride dirtbikes! They have DS and ADV routes, on GPS.
Monday: Barber Museum
Tuesday, early: Drive home (I'm not opposed to leaving for home Monday evening after the museum if people are up for it)
Obviously, both ends of the above timeline is in flux, pending others' input. The key dates are Friday - Tuesday are taken. From there, it's up to the group if we want to leave Thursday night and return Monday night. Even leaving Monday night, Tuesday is still a bust for work.

Dad asked if I (and anyone else) wanted to do this. It's in Alabama.
Someone's video of the DS route (kind of vomit-inducing optics, but it's all trail in the video) --
Someone else's video of the adventure ride version (looks to be SV650 on street tires friendly) --
They say you can do both routes on different days if you want. The first video the guy says he did the 100 mile dual sport in one day, but he also says he's a B rider.
I'm hoping to do this, and I'm hoping to get the KLX250S I bought over three years ago sorted in time to use it for this.
Anyone interested?
Thanks,
~Patrick

Looks like good trail! Just wish it was closer...

Re: PMMC Perry Mountain Tower Run
Not to hijack your thread but...
The Barbor Museum is not far away in Birmingham & VERY MUCH worth spending a day there if you're that close! I've been twice & would go again.

Re: PMMC Perry Mountain Tower Run
Holy balls. I didn't realize it was 13 hours.
Bleh, Dad already bought tickets and it's over 8h for him, so...
I guess leaving after work on Friday isn't an option!
I'll see if Dad wants to do Barber Museum Monday after the event to extend the visit and make it more worthwhile. Thanks for the tip!

Looks interesting. I've got to check if I can have any free days around that weekend. Would be great to add one more state to my collection of rides
Is there something resembling a plan for leaving/returning? Timewise. :)

Re: PMMC Perry Mountain Tower Run
Well, its 12 hours from my house to the ride location.. I'd say leave my house at 0700 Friday to arrive down there by dinner time. Barber is 1:30 from there and then 11 hours back to my house. The return would depend on how much time you'd want to spend at Barber. Get there when they open, leave at noon, back at my house at midnight? With the time change I guess it's be 1am...
