Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route- south- 3/27-3/29
DAMN BDR Expedition South
BADAZZ Riders:
Bucho/Phil
Juddspaintballs/Jed
Wingfixer/Patrick
BDMaha/Brian
DaScrub/Paul
Maybes: Laoch?
J&J?
Marylander
Looking at my work schedule.
This will certainly be weather depending. We can always cancel the week before as weather is tricky in March.
But last week of March, 27-29th? Leave Tuesday morning, home by Thursday night. Or the week before? (3/20-3/22)
Maybe we do the VA side?

I can't do either of those. First week is right before a track day trip to JenningsGP in FL. The following week I'm doing a day at NJMP.

Dates aside- I've been reading the threads and was wondering what types of bikes are you guys talking taking on this jaunt?

Re: Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route - Trip 1
I don't think there is much, (or anything?) very difficult on this route. Just from that little video/trailer, it looks like maybe a few rough dirt roads will be the hardest part to ride.
I"m going to ride my DR650 , (probably with the motard wheels). I think Jed's Weestrom or any of the lightweight multi cylinder adv bikes would be ideal.
While the smallest thumper will be just fine on the actual BDR route, our ride will probably start with a long road transit section down to the start.

Re: Mid Atlantic Backcountry Discovery Route - Trip 1
Your Honda Half-liter Twin would probably be the bike (though KLX would do fine).
Its 350+ miles from my house down to Damascus VA. Thats basically taking I81 and burning out five and half hours of riding.

Sorry Junior. Wasn't trying to leave you (and most people) out. But that works best for me.
I figure someone else will organize a weekend trip (for the normal people) that will have 4-5 times the attendance of my midweek ride.
