[Cancelled] St John's Rock Camping and Dual-Sport Weekend - 20-22 April

Post by Rut Row »

Cancelled - combined with Joker's weekend at Granville's.
-----------------
Would there be any interest in a weekend at St John's Rock? I know many think the trails are too short but if you combine that with some dual-sporting in the area it would make a nice weekend. The trails between the campgrounds are great for the kids to ride and there is a hiking trail there too so this would be an excellent family weekend.

The schedule needs to firm up some so we can pick a weekend that would suit everyone interested.

Good place to basecamp for a day or two of DS riding in the area.

I would be inclined to show up for a "Dual-Sport" reunion ride at st johns. More so then if it`s at Mt ridge again. just my .02. Either way would it would be cool to do a good dual sport with you! :freakey:

^^ What he said.
Let's get this on calendar, March is iffy, maybe April?
Maybe make it separate from the annual reunion or the reunion site
BTW- I liked having the reunion in April, May is busy. Poll time?

This place does have a large camping area. Plenty-o-DS in the area and a little ST to play on.

Unless it is a warm spring, the average WX out there in March is still in the low 40s with the mid-low 20s overnight.

April is better but the Reunion could conflict. Let's nail down that first.

Mountain Ridge, assuming that is where the reunion will be since there really is no other place that satisfies everyone better, does not open until May 4. The last few years the Reunion has been the weekend after Mother's day (makes it easy to remember). That would make it May 19-20 this year.

Just my $.01....

Hmm, I haven't had the wr250x off of pavement at all yet (this bike has 17" wheels). If we'll be doing DS oriented stuff I'll leave the xtrainer at home and get the distanzias mounted up on the wr (so, no mud please :killingme: ).
