Ive watched some of those gymkhana vids before. Those guys (and probably gals too) are pretty amazing. Very smooth, very quick, total control.

Buell used to have a traveling thing like gymkhana back in the early 90s. I think it was called battletrax. They set up in the parking lot of the little school near the frederick keys stadium when they came to town. You could ride any of the then current buell models or your own bike. It was a lot of fun. It didn't require you to memorize the course like they do in gymkhana.

A few years ago I set up my Church parking lot w/ a couple cone course obstacles. I didnt get too much interest. But a couple guys came out and we had fun

That gymkhana event was fantastic. I'd love to do in again.

I found a video of the battletrax thing on the youtubes. From memory this course seems a lot faster, more wide open, than what they set up in frederick. At least when I did this it was not something anyone had practiced (which seems to be the case for the youtube video too).

Maybe we will have to then...

But in the fall, when it isn't crazy hot to be standing around in a parking lot all afternoon

A few years ago, I saw some of the motors guys at the driving range and chatted them up. They offered to let me ride their course with them anytime they had it set up. I should do that someday.

You should. Its extremely challenging on a big street bike. A few years ago I did get up there on my DR650. The cones weren't set up but the paint marks were still there. You still had to use some technique but it was soooo much easier than doing it on a HD Electraglide.

I had the ST1100 at the time. I didn't want to embarrass them :killingme:
