Thanks for the offer. Good idea.
Where would I find the compression that it should have... I'll just Google it.

Mmmmmm??? I could just pick one one up, always looking for new tools.

If'n ya wanna buzz over this weekend, I wouldn't mind. Weather looks decent.
Maybe I could even get help "setting the bike up"?

I've got a couple small jumps in the back acre :roost:

I bought the Motion Pro one its real nice, comes with 3 different adapter hoses and a real nice gauge with a case. I think it was fairly cheap, got it from my MAC tool guy. I found he can get me motion pro tools cheaper than I can get them from motion pros website. The weekend sounds like an idea, I will let ya know, right now Im in the middle of rebuilding 2 bikes and 1 quad so real busy trying to get shit down so I can work on my owne stuff. But I will let ya know before the weekend

I could always throw it in the truck and head north?
Might be easier and I am the one in need.

Really, thanks for offering to help.

A compression tester is just sort of a coarse test to find big problems. Don't forget to account for automatic decompression, if your bike has it.

A leakdown test (used properly) will let you know which parts are having problems. Crank the motor up to TDC, introduce the pressure, and use a mechanics stethoscope to listen to the intake (inside the airbox, but better if you remove the carb), to the exhaust (at the exhaust outlet, but better if you remove the header), and to the crankcase at the oil filler. If you hear air leakage at the intake or exhaust, the intake or exhaust valve seat is shot. If you hear it at the oil filler, it's the rings.

Thanks Al. Yeah. I'm gonna try a compression test. Then go from there.

Just always seem to run out of time and then I wanna go ride.
