The Cove GPX file

Post by Marylander »

Here's a file that covers most of the trails at The Cove. I think I've got one or two of the nasty jeep trails that I've been on with Sam but, otherwise, they should just be the regular trails.

Indeed, a top quality ride leader. By contrast I am terrible, missing turns and forgetting where I am. ;)

Can someone explain how this info is used? I have read up on it briefly using google but some "real life" ideas would be appreciated. I am usually leading the group of guys I ride with so it would be great to be more capable.

thanks!!

There are different approaches to this. I took the cheap approach and bought an old, cheap, rugged android phone (samsung galaxy rugby pro SGH-I547). I don't have an account or SIM card for it. It's just for GPS. I then use Locus Map Pro GPS software on the phone. I've got a bar pad that holds the phone.

The other approach is to get a dedicated GPS like one of the Garmin models.
