Here are some practice exercises I've collected (mostly from the dirtwise class):
* Slow ride (go as slow as possible, balancing in one place if you can)
* full lock circles
* full lock figure 8s
* rutted figure 8s
* front brake skid (ride in a straight line locking the front wheel, keep riding/balancing with the front wheel sliding)
* stoppies
* drag race
* turning squares (set up cones in a square shape and ride around them staying tight to the cones)
* cone weave (set up cones about 10 steps apart)
* flat 180deg turns from high speed
* rear brake slide 180deg turns
* wheelies (from stop, while sitting, while standing, 180 aka pivot turns)
* log crossing (including double blip)
* straight line max braking
* log grinding (using a 10"-12" diameter straight log, put your front wheel on one side of the log, rear on the other, and ride the length of the log)

Guffaw... :) I can remember the exercises but that doesn't mean I'm any good at most of them. Joe and Jay were in the same class in Winchester...

Or as Ken would say, "Thanks for volunteering to instruct!"

I've got some soccer cones around the house somewhere. I'll bring 'em when I manage to make it over.
