Target Fixation

Post by OneFaller » Sun Jun 04, 2017 8:02 pm

Everybody knows about it, but we all fall prey to it on occasion.

Today was my day, but I'm blaming some of it on my race prep, which was to get front row to the Iron Maiden show the night before, drink lots of beer, do *zero* nutritional prep, and have very little sleep.

we were in a grass section at the start of the race. I wasn't pushing hard because I didn't feel at the top of my game. Came around a corner and stared at the hay bale, screaming in my head "DON'T LOOK AT IT! STOP IT! STOP!" oof.

I've got either bruised or broken ribs. I suspect they're just bruised, because I did finish the race.

Glad I squirreled away some of the Good Stuff™.

Sometimes stupid hurts.
