Bolt store?

Post by phoo » Wed Jun 08, 2016 8:54 am

Is there something around here line a McAllister or something where I can buy a bunch of bolts and fasteners? I'd like to buy more than three of a particular bolt, which means I would buy out all of home depot stock four times over.

Thanks,

I don't know about local (I've bought out the local ace before) but I've gotten bolt kits online, e.g.,
https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/p/12 ... e-Bolt-Kit
http://pitposse.com/po18mebokit.html

BTW, ace has nicer hardware than home depot, particularly SS allen head screws.

Also, mcmaster/carr is really fast. I think all my orders from them have come next day.

There's a Fastenal in Westminster. Also McmasterCarr usually gets me stuff next day 2nd at latest.

Tractor Supply has a decent hardware selection (especially in sae as you can buy in bulk)

Fastenal is great, but if you need common bolts/nuts, Tractor Supply is hard to beat.

McMaster for my needs. I've heard good stuff about Maryland Metrics in B-more, but never dealt with them personally.

That is kinda funny. I used to go to HomeDepot for that stuff (mainly bc I used to live really close by), and would often have the same experience. I think the last time I was there I was looking for a metric M7 bolt. Some employee was attempting to "help" me. He told me that he had never heard of an M7 and was pretty sure they don't exist and I was incorrect in what I was looking for.
While he was telling me that I did find the M7 bolt box and yes, they had like 1 or 2. I needed 6 I think.
