A huge number of people with pickup trucks would be much better served with vans. Not sure if they just never heard the sweet van gospel or just cant get over the stigma of driving around some sort of mobile rape center.
Until the Sprinters & Promaster came along, they weren't very practical for hauling a variety of materials and towing. I'm certainly rethinking my position on what to replace my truck with.

It touched gravel! That counts, right? ...Maybe not. On the hunt for something that could handle real dirt roads, but this is what I've got for now

That street fighter looks like a pretty wild ride. If its on two wheels (sometimes even three) it counts.

You might be on to something! We've been sending some Facebook messages back and forth about it. My biggest hold up is that I'm not much of a mechanic, and it looks like it could use some TLC.

That is a solid bike and at a DAMN good price.
Toss in a new battery and flush the carb / jets and go ride.
I sold the bike to Tony and the original owner put little time in it.
Those years had the good valves so needing to shim the valves is rare.
The Baja tank is perfect for DS rides and longer distance stuff.
With a fresh battery you will never touch the kicker.
If you add up things like rekluse and large tank you are half way to his price.
As far as wrenching I thought is was a requirement that you had to be a mechanic to own a Duc?? (JK)
Pull the trigger, this will get you rolling in the DAMN world of DS riding
