I've got a couple of the MSR 1L fuel bottles that were used extensively on the ANF trip. They are handy. We used them so much I stopped packing them in my bag and hung them from my bag with carabiners. Hundreds of miles of dirt and gravel and they hung on just fine like that.

One thing to consider when purchasing a fuel bottle is whether or not you ever plan on hanging them by the caps. Apparently the Optimus/Primus bottles have press-fit threaded portions into the bottles and the MSR bottles are machined threads into the aluminum bottle. There's been a couple reports of loggers and landscapers carrying fuel on a biner on their belt where the press fit threads quit holding and the bottle fell.

Got sent to Scottsdale, AZ last month for work, so the wife and I went early for a weekend ride. Rented a Harley:

And rode north thru Sedona and Flagstaff, ended up here:

It was awesome. Spent the nite then headed out historic 66

I think my rear tire being on dirt qualifies as dualsporting right?
Spent the nite in Kingman, ventured out to In & Out burger

which lived up to the hype, then back to Phoenix. 2 nites, 3 days riding. Just beautiful. I only post it here in case anyone else was considering that type of thing, it was my first big bike experience, and first bike trip with the wife, who loved it, thankfully. I probably would have chosen to go get lost in the desert on a dirt bike, but having her along made the Harley choice easy...

Nice! Its fun to ride something a little different.

Years ago my wife and I rented a R1200GS and did a 4 day ride around southern AZ. Was great, my first (only) experience riding out west.

A buddy of mine is getting deployed shortly so we had to hang out and ride a little.

The light is fading and the picture came out darker than I realized.

Nice Bucho....loving mine. You need to get the walls lined ASAP. One slip and them bar ends will give you some big dents.

Beta is my buddies, its got a VA tag.

A huge number of people with pickup trucks would be much better served with vans. Not sure if they just never heard the sweet van gospel or just cant get over the stigma of driving around some sort of mobile rape center.
