Just passed the 30 year mark last week.
My collection was as high as 9 bikes at one time.
Spent far too much time wrenching and keeping batteries and paperwork up.
Sold the bunch down to 2 newer bikes and ride more now then ever before.
When she made comment about my "ass to seat ratio" I started by selling off the bikes she liked.

I made my contribution to humanity avoiding procreation. I believe you get back tenfold what you gave your parents. Me? I gave my parents so much grief that the demon spawn that I would put forth could mean the end of civilized society.

and always buy the same color bike. That way she won't know you got a new one or not.

I've done all of the above plus...buy bikes for your teenage son (but really for you). And get her interested and buy her a bike, she did the MSF with son and has license

QFT (Quoted For Truth)

This is true even if unmarried. Even if single, it's always easy to find some other pressing need that you HAVE to take care of before getting a new bike. And that's especially true when going from zero to one bike. But going from one to two or two to three (or six to seven... :brows: ) is relatively easy.

Never, never go down to zero bikes.

OFG thinks the decision shouldn't be one or more than one bike but rather one or more than one DIGIT in the quantity of bikes

For my 4th birthday the old man bought me a Rupp mini bike. Ever since then I've had at least 1 running motorcycle at all times. I'm currently 55.
Here's the current crop of runners. There's more but these move.
