Sub forums for Trials, enduros etc?

Post by Rut Row » Thu Mar 20, 2014 9:12 am

Would you guys like me to create subforums under "DAMN Rides, Trips and Events" for Trials, Dual-Sports, Races, etc?

Maybe to sway the vote, I vote subforums for racing (enduros, hare scrambles, etc) and for trials, leaving dual sports in the main rides section since that is the stated purpose of this site.

I find it nice to keep tabs on all activity occurring here.
With ADV Rider and TT I just go direct to the trials only forums.
I don't think the DAMN family has grown to TT / ADV Riders size as of yet.
What I would ask is that stickies only be used for current events.
Once the event is over and bulk of commenting is done, remove the sticky and let if fade away.
Keep the top section for current activities.

The way I always view the forum is by clicking on "View Active Topics". As a result, I don't think creating sub-forums will effect me and I will still see everything anyway and that's cool since I am interested in every thing. Therefore I am abstaining from voting since there may be others who want or don't want this change because of their specifics. I am also abstaining because if I did have an opinion on this, I would then again be told I am the chair of the rules committee..... :peep:

I do "view unread posts" so really the subforums don't affect me, but I think it makes it easier for newbies to find stuff.

I second Boom Boom's opinions on stickies. In general, I think we could do a better job of ensuring active stuff is sticky so it's at the top, then unsticky after the event passes.
