Stolen bikes

Post by badguy »

Looks like I won't be riding any trials events any time soon...or riding much of anything else either. I found the door to my shed hanging from the hinge this morning and three of my bikes gone. They took an 06 Suzuki DR650, an 04 Honda CRF150F with big wheels, and an 86 Beta TR33.

The DR had an ADV sticker on the back and a ton of stickers on the front fender, a torn seat, and white plastics (blue handguards though). The Honda was pretty much stock except for an aluminum skidplate, handguards and bar risers. The Beta was an old red trials bike...something tells me it won't turn up unless someone finds it in a ditch.

I don't expect these to be found, but figured it couldn't hurt to put up notice.

Don't give up! I had 3 bikes stolen from my shed and by the end of the second day, I had 2 back. Never got the third one back. I know how you feel, like you have been kicked in the gut, violated. Sorry you had to go through it, not fun I know.

Call the officer and check in with them every few days. They get busy. Stuff gets recovered all the time and you have to be proactive to go see what they have.

Make sure you give them any pictures you may have of the bikes, helps them in the effort to recover them. Get the serial numbers ready and any other descriptive info you have that can help the cops.
Lots of cool bikes---

Thanks guys.

Here's the info on the bikes, I'll cross post in the trials section over at ADV juuuuust in case the dirtbags who took the Beta know what it is.

2006 DR650SE - VIN JS1SP46A662100185 (currently has a stock exhaust from a GSXR 1000, not the FMF in the pic)

2004 CRF150F - frame number 9C2KE01034R008369
Image

1986 Beta TR33 - didn't have frame number written down, but I think the frame was from a TR32 anyway

The DR was reported as abandoned in Lanham earlier this week. I had to pay $275 for the privilege of bringing my bike back home all torn up. No sign of the other two though.

I haven't looked it over very closely yet, but it seems like the worst parts are the trashed front end (won't turn fully to the right) and the smashed off iginition.

Weird you posted, I was just thinking of the stolen bikes yesterday, & was wondering if any light was sheded on the matter. Thanks for update, but sorry to see damage. Maybe a search in the area where it was found, will turn up some leads. Any riding ares, around the find spot, to ask other riders to be on the look out or for leads.
