kinda wish I knew about this before I dropped 15k on a new 1200GS...although I kinda trust BMW a bit more for a bike meant for touringAND offroad. they have been making the GS for 30 yrs.

But the GS can no longer be fixed on the side of the road or trail. There are too many electronics now.

sadlly, this is true. But I couldn't find anything new that would serve me as a daily driver and touring bike that I could strap my guitars too that wasn't mostlly electronics. But the GS a better off road bike than any of my HD shovelheads!and mine isn't throttle by wire, so I won't be killed by malfunctioning electronics anytime soon
