I am paid for both days of the Shenandoah 500. I guess the wait list was fast. I hope to see people there! I'm not sure if I'll be camping or staying in a hotel. Who's going and what are your plans?

Thanks,

I'll be arriving at Natural Chimneys campground on Friday night (time unknown) and camping both Friday night and Saturday night.

I talked to the campground staff and told them the issue with Sunday is that I'll be out riding until late afternoon, but didn't want to stay Sunday night as well; but that doesn't jive with their check-out time. She said it wouldn't be a problem as long as there was no one scheduled to take that place on Sunday night. I clarified that she meant it was alright to check-out in the late afternoon on Sunday without having to pay for Sunday night and she again stipulated that the campground would "work with me" so long as no one was scheduled for that place on Sunday night.

(Which, when you consider that it will be a Sunday night into a Monday the first week of October, it's probably more likely than not that it won't be a problem for the vast majority of folks.)

I've been there the monday after and there are usually a handfull or less at the campground. Most are left over from the dualsport event.

Anyone have room on their sites and want to split the cost? If not I'll call this Friday and get a spot.

I just reserved G24 - but it is in a BAD neighborhood backing up to Kylers site which usually has a ROWDY bunch in it :harhar:

Don't know exactly how big the site is??? but we will just have our minivan and trailer.

Also I should warn you that I will have 2 MEAN LITTLE BITCHES along so it could be DANGEROUS particularly if they get into the vino!

But if you're still willing to chance it you're welcome!

I have camped there for the whole weekend event eight times and it never even occurred to me to ask. I just leave my stuff setup until mid afternoon or so on Sunday. I get back, hit the shower (if it isn't too trashed), pack and head out usually late afternoon. Nobody at the campground has ever said a word.

They are pretty laid back. About the only thing that gets their attention is riding without helmets or hauling ass. Otherwise they seem to be pretty good at ignoring beer, too many vehicles, staying a little past checkout, etc. That is kind of the mood of the whole event. In all the times I have ridden this thing I seen exactly one forest ranger and zero local cops.

Attached please find your receipt and confirmation for camping reservations at Natural Chimneys. Please see our website for campground regulations and rules or give us a call. I'd also like to take the opportunity to advise you that there will be a rather large contingent of motorcycle riders using the camgpround as a 'base' for a weekend trail ride over the course of Oct. 1 and 2. You may be a part of that group but if not, I did want to notify you that there will be an excess of motorbikes over those dates along with the accompanying noise. Please contact us if you have any questions.
