My aluminum foil fix for my exhaust held up to another 1000 mile sof riding since the 777 ride. I deicded yesterday to tear down the bike and make ready for new gaskets. I did notice a few things intersting-
The stock mufflers on my 950 are heavy as crap. Wtf were they thinkin?
My rear wheel mud flap is cutting into my swingarm- so I modifed that.
The rear sub frame had alot of water in it? I need to reasearch this and see if others are having the same issue. Might need weep holes.

I've read where folks have put weep holes in their swingarms and subframes.

The thing I am curious about is whether it is better to drill it or not? Rust needs air to really work well. Maybe find the leaky area and seal it up.

Re: 950 repairs
why not drill, get it dry then fill the whole shebang with an inert solid substance? say insulation foam?bonehead wrote:The thing I am curious about is whether it is better to drill it or not? Rust needs air to really work well. Maybe find the leaky area and seal it up.
once you have it perfected on yours, you can do mine!

I am thinking of not drilling finding the sopt where it leaks and looking at that then maybe putting desccicant in it to absorb the moisture?Kyler wrote:why not drill, get it dry then fill the whole shebang with an inert solid substance? say insulation foam?bonehead wrote:The thing I am curious about is whether it is better to drill it or not? 950 repairs
It leaks in around the tapped screw holes mostly from my understanding. The stock exhaust is a horrible miserable hot piece of shit. Get wings or acks and loose a bunch of weight and heat.
