I am loving this forecast and all the rain BEFORE the ride. The temps should be perfect for wearing an armored jacket instead MX gear. And with the rain dust should be minimal, traction deluxe and the stream crossings entertaining. It beats the hell of riding the event in pouring rain. My last pavement crash was a low side in the pouring rain on this ride.

Well thanks to Maximus I am bringing a new DAMN bike for me to ride. Picked it up last night. So the DAMN question now is, bring both the XT600 and the DRZ, put a for sale on the XT while I'm down there, Leave it at home, sell it to a needy DAMN Rider.....I NEED SOME DAMN HELP!!! LOL

Really looking forward to getting on the DRZ and see how that bike handles against the XT. Just not kick starting the bike is a +10 already.

24 hours and counting...

Hey does anyone know if they require proof of insurance at registration? Max is letting me use the tag this weekend, so I can ride the new bike and not waste time at the MVA getting it changed over till next week. I do have my insurance for the XT, which should be good enough. Just wanted to make sure.

Yes, insurance and registration must match - they do check it too! Bring Max's insurance card if you are leaving the bike registered in his name for the weekend.

I think that I'll do the same with my 01 400mxc...taking it along as a back-up, and will hang a "For Sale" sign on it for some free advertising.

Most insurance companies allow you to insure a vehicle thats not registered to you. It's worth giving them a call and see if you can just add the bike and print out a temporary card. Beats dealing with the DMV on a friday.

I'm getting ready to start the trek, raining off and on at my house but supposed to be a beautiful weekend here. PITA to load up the truck in the rain.I just checked the forcast and I am almost 100% sure that dust will not be a problem this weekend.I'm hoping that the weather forcast gets revised again and that it will be sunny,if not I hope you brought more that 1 set of riding gear looks like it's going to be a wet one.
