I have been having problems with the server running out of resources and giving errors. It is better but I'm still getting some periodically. Please report any you get to me at ken@kyler.com.

Re: Beaverdam Ford
N39 03.225 W77 45.103 according to my GPS (putting me on Jeb Stuart Rd and Butcher's Branch Creek). Having said that though this GPS stuff is new to me, and when I put in your coordinates into MapSource it shows something on the other side of I81... I guess I have some practicing to do!

Re: Beaverdam Ford
Weird. Both GPS coordinates are about the same (mine are in a different format - decimal as opposed to degrees-minutes-seconds) but I got them from google maps since I don't have a GPS unit. I guess it's just the different perspective that makes the pictures look different I'll get back out there one of these days.

Re: Beaverdam Ford
It's likely due to different map Datums.

Google Maps uses WGS84, check your GPS to see which you're using.

A friend of mine was there last weekend and took another picture without the flooding ("look, there's a road...").

Ok, I'm gonna have to say that you got east and west mixed up or something I was there last weekend and finally saw both sides...here's a pic from the west side looking back east. It's closer to the water than your picture, but I'm pretty sure it's the same view:

Re: Beaverdam Ford
Yep, same view. Maybe I should bring a compass next time...
Was there this weekend too, crossing the opposite direction to you guys - heading towards Philomont store around noon on Saturday. Helmet camera ran out of batteries before we crossed, so no more pictures to add...

Haha, glad we finally got it figured out
I'm adding some crossing info to the first post...it's a little shallower if you swing downstream.
