My guess is the KY location is Harlan County. Far more mine activity than Brimstone and lots of jeep / rail buggy activity at Harlan Co.
Does not look all that 2 wheel friendly.
Brimstone is a company formed to allow recreation activity on multiple tracts of private land that they have agreements with the land owners. Plenty of mother nature at her finest.
Harlan Co and Coal Creek is mining land that still has mining activity that allows use of its land, kinda like Reading Anthracite in PA.

Here're a couple of pictures from a trip we took to Hatfield and McCoy...circa October 2008...Rockhouse Trail system...the famous (or infamous) single track trail 199. These pictures were taken at the "upper" end of 199. In no way do they adequately show how steep, rocky and difficult the trail is. Pictured is Kevin (Loosescrew) and Steve, one of our local riding buddies.

The way that Kev and Steve are standing kind of shows how steep this section is.

In the next 2 pictures you can see where the guys had piled up a couple of rocks at one of the rock faces to make the stepup a bit easier to make.

If I remember correctly, somehow I am not the one pushing my bike through the "interesting" stuff. You must have got a work out "walking" down to take those pictures cause I know you did not climb that trail on your bike. :knary:

That was then. And what's "interesting" to one may just be a PITA to another. The next time will be different...regardless of where it is. Better get to work on that elliptical machine.
