Re: Top End job on the 74 Suzuki RL250
Maiden Voyage completed! Took the RL out to the open house in WVa, put gas in it, open the petcock and watch the fuel flow. Pumped on the choke, 3 kicks and she fired to life
Let it warm up and rode it around the field. Shut it off and let it cool. Rode it for 3-20 minute sessions after that with Ken K on his Montessa! On the last loop, I rode some sections and the old girl worked fine climbing the rock faces and stuff! Brakes even work pretty decent. Got it in 4th gear and was cruising the road to get the rings seated. She purrs like a 2stroke kitten!
So all that is left is to do the fork seals. They weep a little, but can still ride it for now no worries. It was a great day to be outside! Sunny and 55 degrees, lots of fun toolin' around on the old school bike in the woods.
The Kyler machine!
