Got into town for work, 2 lights into town clutch cable pops on KLR..... drift down hill to motel. placed vice grips on clutch piece on side cover and limp it a few blocks over to work at the paper using my calf to work clutch (DAMN tricky). I think I have a spare one still at home somewhere....120 miles away. Called one dealer in Johnstown, not in stock..... going to call Bedford Dealer in AM in hopes they have one. If not any ideas? End broke off at hand lever end..... if no luck at Bedford I'll make something from whatever I can find at hardware store... just looking for ideas I guess.
oh yeah 301-491-2840 is my cell.....

If you need to get a hold of me, text my cell # (8 1 4 - two three 3 - five 7 0 six) or email me at camper72 at hotmail.com I have to work 2p-10p today and 1p-10p tomorrow...can't answer the phone while working but will check it during breaks.

If Bedford has a cable, MAZMAN may be able to help get it to you. He has connections at that shop (I.E.: he allows them to reach in his pocket and remove $$'s), lives near there and works in town. I can put you in contact with him if you'd like. Also, MULLETHEAD774 has connections at Uniontown Kawasaki. The bike shop that I work p/t at could order one but you wouldn't have it by the weekend. You might also try these local Somerset shops: JM Heiple Cycle Salvage (http://www.jmheiplecyclesalvagepa.com/index.htm), 814-446-6787 or Knepper Repair 814-445-2499

If you need anything like wheels to go after a cable, tools to work on it, a haul home or a place to store it, leave me know.

Glad to here you got it taken care of. Sorry for a delay from myself but I don't have access at work any more & don't spend a lot of time on the computer with weather like this. If you're ever in the area again & need anything, 814-233-7451. Good luck.

Glad you got it fixed Mike.

I thought the clutch was only used to get moving, and then only if you aren't pointed down hill?

True I did a 1/2 block long wheelie going up the hill towards the post office with the vice grip set up. :roost: sorta startled me didn't think thumper pig had it in her.
