So I decided to repair the plethora of pinched tubes today. Turns out I lost three valve cores.
Dumb-ass question - are all valve cores the same? Motorcycle, car or bicycle?

Re: Valve Cores
I bought some from Advanced Auto that seemed to have held.
Re: Valve Cores
I usually end with more valve cores than tubes.
Plethora of pinched tubes, huh
I've had good luck with this:
It is real thin at the end. I still do tires old school, no fancy machines or stands.

Re: Valve Cores
I finally learned the technique and haven't pinched a tube installing a tire in a while.dirtygrunt wrote:I usually end with more valve cores than tubes.

However, I did pinch two tubes riding for the very first time (let the record show it was after meeting bonehead "The Jinx").
I figured it was time to repair and reuse versus buy new ones.

Re: Valve Cores
I resemble that remark. I can't fix my tubes cause I ripped the valve stems off the tubes. I can't say enough about having a good set of spoons for the job. It does make life easy.Kyler wrote:I finally learned the technique and haven't pinched a tube installing a tire in a while.dirtygrunt wrote:I usually end with more valve cores than tubes.

Re: Valve Cores
I picked up some cheap Slime cores - they work good - 4 for $2.
Had one tube that looked like someone took an ice pick and went Postal - it is now cut into rubber bands. The others seem to be holding air fine - will find out for sure on the next flat!
