Ok, photobucket is out. Smugmug cost money too. Is anyone using a free image hosting site that is easy & works?

Smugmug is worth the price. IIRC, the owner of ADV Rider also owns Smugmug. I paid for my subscription using Amazon checkout and it was actually cheaper than the advertised price for the year.

Baldy (ADVRider owner) started it but sold it to his son and daughter in law a while back. So it's still in the family. :deal:

It's also a pretty good deal.

You might take a look at Imgur. Some people have been using it on another forum I look at. I have not tried it, but I think it is a no cost thing.

I use it for this forum. No cost involved. idk about longevity of saved pics, I've been using it only several months yet.

This is what you get using imgur. Copy their BBCode and paste it here.

ImageI'm doing a test to try and post an image/pic from free site. When is the little icon (looks like a thumbnail of mountain & sun) next to the link used?
[URL=http://www.image-share.com/ijpg-40 ... .jpg[/IMG][/url]
hmmmm not working? :think:

You can also use facebook. If you're not on FB yourself, you could create an account that does nothing but host photos that you link to here, not even having any "friends." I've used FB as an image host multiple times, simply because of tight cellphone (ie "camera I always have") integration.

looks like you have a URL and IMG tags. Just put the url inside the IMG tags w/o the URL tag. Yes, You can automatically generate the IMG tags by using the little sun/mountain icon.
Looks like this: (but use square brackets instead of curly braces)
{img}http://www.image-share.com/upload/4087/61.jpg{/img}
will give you this:

I tried using mountain/sun icon but didn't work either. I think the problem lies with the hosting url layout.
I tried right click on image and selected "copy image" & inserting between the two {img} brackets. But nothing. I'll try "copy image location"
Hmmm this may have worked. Doesn't show pic now but maybe after I submit?
OK on edit; It doesn't show pic in preview mode but after I clicked submit , it did. Now to see what size works better.1st pic is approx 640x480pix
2nd is approx 960x720pix
hmm on edit: the pics look the same? The motorcycle in above post looks large? Do I need to make sure image is within a certain range before right clicking and pasting between {img} brackets?
This is where I was imaging from http://www.image-share.com/index.php?m=upload

You probably don't want to 'copy image' but something more like 'copy image location'. What is the url of the pic you are trying to post? If you copy the image location, you should be able to open a new window/tab, post that url in the address bar and see just the pic.

Edit: Looks like you might just be saving the url of the thumbnail. Try viewing the full photo before copying the location.
