Mountain Ridge will be open for business by then.
Yea I know it is a pay to ride area, but they have plenty of riding options to offer.
Also the Cove should be a reasonable drive for many guys, private owned and some good mountain riding, but also not a cheap as GR.
Just two other options of areas that are private owned and also offer some better riding options.

I'm for going to Greenridge, I like the privacy of the spread out campsites, no neighbors breathing down your neck. It also gives the guys who have dualsports/adventure tourers somewhere to ride w/out killing themselves.

That said, I went to Mountain Ridge once in 08 and I've been wanting to go back ever since.

I too like Greenridge due to the fact that there is somewhere for everyone to ride of any level and on almost any kind of bike. The privacy is great also. Also it's free for people who just stop by to say hi and do one lap or so.

Grady wrote:I was thinking we should start discussing next years reunion. As far as I know, campsite G6 is the only campsite you can get a alcohol permit for. G6 is the group site with the pavilion. The rangers have been handing out $55 fines to each person caught with a drink, no warnings. I guess we should at least decide if we want it at Greenridge as usual, or if we want to try somewhere else. I know G6 fills up quick, so the sooner we decide, the better the chance at geting a good place for the reunion. Maybe Rrob will come out of the wodwork and chime in.
I'm all for having it at GR again as tradition. It's easy for our core members to get to, and is usually fun for everyone. Although a dry DAMN reunion seems kind of blasphemous, so we'll need to get the details on the permits. I'd hate to see a bunch of fines handed out to the group.
Whats everyones opinion on this this year.
It's cold out, and it's been kinda quiet in here lately. The reunion kind of starts off the season, so lets hear your thoughts.
Have we considered a nearby private campground?

A note for a harford county camp out possibility for the future, Susquehanna state park in Havre de Grace has camps sites available. I don't know the details about the place. It is not as secluded or private as greenridge, but very close to the town of havre de grace.

Let me just elaborate on the very good point the Grady has brought up. This is a very major change from camping at Greenridge in the past. Starting November 1, 2009, ALL Maryland State parks have banned Alcohol consumption. The only exception is if you purchase a $35 "permit" that is good to drink in certain picinic "shelters" and from what Grady describes, there is only 1 of these at Greenridge now. Otherwise it is a $55 fine.

Personally, I am not a huge booze hound; but having a beer or 2 while sitting around the campfire at night sure caps off a great day of riding. However, for others in the group, not being able to drink and woop it up might be a real downer....

Also worth noting, a bunch of DAMN guys are going to Supercamp the last weekend of April which is typically the date for the reunion. So there is another conflict to work out; just sayin...

Im for GR if we can get the permit... What can I say... I like my beer ...

If we can't get that one - there has to be a spot/place nearby to GR that we could do as well per Jeff's suggestion... How many folks are NOT street legal and have to be right on the ORV ???

I don't think many private campgrounds would be willing to tolerate DAMN reunion shenanigans. Fireworks, night rides, big bonfires, and other stuff that just seems to happen at the reunions. I think Greenridge is one of the only places that we wouldn't be asked to leave after the first night. We might just have to get creative with the alcohol.
