2' nd Annual Black Friday Ride

Post by Skinny-J »

Who has the Friday after Thanksgiving off and wants to go ride some where? Last year we went out to Greenridge and were treated to a lovely warm and sunny day. I am thinking about 3 options; I'll let the majority rule so vote early to control your own destiny!

1. Greenridge- I am good for one lap around the ORV but then I get bored. Last year we went out and explored some dirt roads and I would like to do that again as well. We could also venture up into PA and see what we could find and stop at the Road Kill Cafe for Lunch.

2. Catoctins north of Frederick- It is a little closer to home for a lot of folks and always fun to wander around on the dirt roads up in the Catoctins. We could also extend further north and even get up into Michaux.

3. Susquehanna- We had a great ride around the Susquehanna river a few weeks ago and I have had a couple of requests to do it again. I could change up the route but retain all the "high lights" to keep it interesting.

Hopefully the weather will cooperate; but even the worst day of riding is better than the best day of shopping.

I'm also off on that Friday. I'd like to ride somewhere that day providing that I have my furnace/woodpile issues corrected. I'll have an issue with my son also wanting to ride that day... I only have one plated dirtbike in the garage right now...
And Loosescrew was also talking about wanting to ride that Friday.

Crap, I'm on a crazy-mad dash from here to Key West. Leave Wednesday night, drive all night, get there Thursday night, party Friday and Saturday, and back by Sunday evening. If those plans fall through - I'll be there.

I'm in if it's Greenridge. I have family coming into town and although I have enough bikes for them to dual-sport, they don't have the licenses. Last thing I want is for them to get a ticket or something for riding without a m/c endorsement.

I will probably ride Shade Mountain on black friday,
No plate needed.
Good rocky single track, even have some "hero" stuff for those interested.

Just a spark arrestor.
I will say that it is nothing I would want to take a 650ish size bike on.
If I twist oldmanX's arm, I feel sure he will be showing up with the Somerset clan.
Also looks to be a ride forming for that Sunday also.
Sorry about the thread hi-jack, just wanted to throw up an option for anyone wanting something different.

So now you mention my name... I was beginning to think that you were trying to go w/o us Somerset guys for once. My feelings were almost hurt...almost.

And I'm sure that the Mullet will want to make it up to you now that he'll realize that he wasn't forgotten about...
