Dave you bringing the NX?
Yeah, it's my only bike for now. Quite honestly I don't see myself trying to wrestle it down any trails with real obstacles until I get some skills (and/or a more capable bike) but I'm fitting some handguards to it anyway next week.

Me too... I used to own one .. I miss it .... I almost got another one a little bit ago - but got bruced on the sale - it's why I got the xr650l - bulletproof... It should be fine at GR - but I would replace the lower fender with a higher dirt one - and it will be fine...

As long as you purchase an ORV permit your bike is legal.

12 years old is the minimum age for riders

And therein lies a question. The factory low fender mounts to a stamped sheetmetal "bridge" across the forks, that a few folks say still manages to add a noticeable amount of stability. If I change to a high-mounted dirt fender, should I: Leave the bridge in place? Remove it?

(responses probably should go somewhere in the Fix The DAMN Thing forum...)

Just to clarify with an ORV permit the bike is allowed on the ORV trail only.

Yes. If you have an offroad bike, you need an ORV sticker and you may only ride on the ORV loop.

If your bike is tagged/street legal, then you can ride on all the roads and you don't need the sticker.

The ORV runs CCW. Plated bikes *can* run it CW but nobody does for safety reasons.
Unplated bikes may legally traverse Mertens Ave to bypass the more difficult Stafford Rd section between Campsites 100 and G7.
