I signed up for adventure both days. I figure I can switch when I get there if I feel the need. I'll only be bringing the beta, the d/s route sound like a lotta road.

Unless I get convinced to bring the drz, and there's room for it... :deal:
emmm, I think the DS is the "harder" thing, so I signed up both days for that. Am I wrong? I think the Adventure was meant for a big bikes..
I'm with Nobody... :jack:

DS is trails, ADV is big bikes with street tires. But they can be changed there no problem. My dad did DS then ADV, I did ADV the DS to ensure we got all maps. Last year, the DS was 100 miles and a B rider did all of it in a day. I do not know if my dad could do that, so I'm hoping we at least finish the DS even if it takes two days.

For you guys thinking about visiting Barber I'll just say that it took me about 5 hours with a lunch break in the middle to feel like I'd really seen it. I scheduled a full day after a two day track event there just to do a deep dive at the museum and it was worth it if you haven't seen it.

Thanks for the recommendations. I've always wanted to see barber, but never realized just how far away it is. It makes no sense to be right there and not see it, so it's on the calendar. It makes the drive to the event worth it even more.

If you guys could add in a couple more days you have Wind Rock / Brimestone / Brown Mountain all as options to hit for some more great riding. As said before, Barber is a must see. I was looking into the lower level where they wrench on things and noticed someone in farmer bibs tinkering with a Lotus. Bit later was looking that same Kawasaki 750 triple smoker I had...same color and all and that guy with bibs taps me on the shoulder and asks "did I have one?" You bet.. didn't handle for crap but for a 16 year old kid to be able to do power wheelies at 100 mph it was a hoot. He was with me for 30 minutes giving back stories on many interesting bikes. Get home and my AMA mag arrives and on the cover was that bib wearing old guy....Mr Barber himself. Started out a farmer, made good money in development and now doing what he always loved. They had some old formula cars running the track that day and to have the building rumble as you look at all the eye candy was just icing on the cake to a great day.
