Lets open up some potential dates for a second ride. I really wanna do this ride. I’ve got a personal day burning a hole in my pocket.

Yes I would consider something different. My buddy,CJ, with the busted brand new 450L, just mounted knobbies on his africa twin for this ride in case his new radiator does not come in time. My ktm is clean, newish tires and all loaded up ready for this ride. But last week I just purchased a Triumph xrx that needed or needs work. I can have that bike ready for a ride this week also. However im not taking it on the MABDR that is unfamiliar to me. But I would take the triumph on most of the southern part of the MABDR that I have ridden on. Im rambling, boy I like dirty Motorcycles.

So for this ride it is likely that it will be 3 of us. My bad ass KTM adventure bike 500 is ready. But my Triumph may be ready for some kind of asphalt / gravel road for its first ride with me. Triumph is scattered all over my garage right now. Im in to ride some where. What are your options? The 3rd guy, CJ, has africa twin for gravel and ashpalt and also a brand new to him hardly ridden 450l honda. He already has work off and like me will need to ride somewhere. Perhaps we do some of the northern part of MABDR? Im up for anything but camping in the cold.

BEEjayT, Im in to ride this northern part of MABDR. I like the idea of taking a light weight dirty bike and haul ass. Let me know what dates you have available.

Why not just pare it down? Head north as far as Interstate 80? Bald Eagle has lots of gravel/two track stuff. As does Michaux.
Or do a big loop through Greenridge, up into PA, hit Buchanan SF, north over to Tuscy SF, down to Michaux. Or reverse? Lot's of option for a 1-2-3 day trip hitting mostly gravel and not getting to far from home.
The MABDR route just passes through these forests without hitting a majority of the good roads.

Just ideas.

I dont know where those places are but that sounds good to me! I'm open to any idea. Personally I want to finish the mabdr this year, just was a goal.

What say you Jed? If CJ is good to go, will you go with plan a? If we decide to without you, can we park a truck and small trailer at your place for a couple days?

I'm fine with you parking at my place, still. I think I'm heading south/west, however. I'm not sure how far, but that is all pretty familiar to me and within a couple hours of home. I'll want to do the (whole) BDR at some point in the future, though.

We are doing this ride. Cj on his Africa twin and me on ktm 500. So Jed, I'd like to still park truck and trailer your house Thursday morning around 9. Anything I need to know getting there or where to park?

Stupid snow and salty roads may have this trip on hold, perhaps. DAMN!

Being that they are probably going to salt the roads up north, this sounds good too. Salt is slick and unpredictable for me in the past. Have any GPx tracks doable for a large Africa twin? Or a waypoint to find?
