Taskers 8/15 or AOAA Trails 8/16?

Post by John F » Tue Aug 14, 2018 2:49 pm

My riding buddy and I are both off tomorrow, and thinking of a trip to Taskers/Peters Mill. We've never been there, and its about a 3 1/2 hour drive for me and 4 1/2 or 5 for him. AOAA is the same distance for both of us (its closed tomorrow) and we've never been there either. We've only been to Wicomico. Any suggestions? Anybody want to join us? We both have bikes that are not street legal or registered.

Thanks-

John

I like Taskers. Its a bargain for a $5 day pass. Sorry Im not free to go along.

It will be MUCH rockier than Wicomico.

FYI you might have trouble getting to AOAA or even RAC as the mountain towns up in coal area have had major flooding.
Shade is still open and free but you will need to like rocks.

Thanks. Going to Taskers involves a trip around the DC Beltway for us, and AOAA involves a trip around the Baltimore beltway for us. Not something I want to do in rush hour to get riding. So, we're going to Wicomico. If anybody else goes, stop by and say hi. We'll be the old guys in a black GMC with KTM 300s.

Good Lord, I don't envy you having to deal w/ either beltway.

Sounds like you need to make it an overnight/weekend trip to go riding.

I live on Kent Island so its about 90 minutes to Wicomico, and 2 1/2 or 3 hours to Taskers or AOAA per Google. My riding buddy lives in Ocean Pines, so add close to 2 hours to my times. Yeah, its a haul. We had a great day yesterday. Lots of fun, and had the place almost totally to ourselves.
