Info about super secret DAMN campground- so, yeah camping is free at the start/finish parking lot (Big Flat) and other places in the forest. You just need a permit. You can hang with the unwashed masses in the chaos of the start area or hang out with your DAMN buddies at a secret locale approximately 4.5 miles from Big Flat. I have room for about 4-5 vehicles- it is in the woods ya know- I'm working on clearing space for more.
It will be primitive camping My small camper is parked there and I have some amenities.
